Unable to install mxnet for R 3.5

Any help with the following error while installing R mxnet for macos. I followed the following steps.

cran <- getOption(“repos”)
cran[“dmlc”] <- “https://apache-mxnet.s3-accelerate.dualstack.amazonaws.com/R/CRAN/
options(repos = cran)
install.packages(“mxnet”, dependencies=T)

I also installed openblas and opencv via homebrew and symlinked the blas dylib to the right version as recommended in other places. I still get the following error

[1] “Loading local: inst/libs/libmxnet.so”
Error: package or namespace load failed for ‘mxnet’:
.onLoad failed in loadNamespace() for ‘mxnet’, details:
call: dyn.load(“R-package/inst/libs/libmxnet.so”, local = FALSE)
error: unable to load shared object ‘/Users/username/R-package/inst/libs/libmxnet.so’:
dlopen(/Users/username/R-package/inst/libs/libmxnet.so, 10): image not found
In addition: Warning message:
package ‘mxnet’ was built under R version 3.5.2

It is odd that the `dlopen’ call looks for the .so file in a path relative to the working directory.
