Several students received unexpected AWS billing due to forgetting to stop or terminate launched instance. AWS will charge by how many hours you keep them running. So you need to stop or terminate your instances, such as
Just to add, you should terminate rather than stop instances if you’re totally finished with them. Otherwise you’ll still be charged for the EBS volumes (i.e. hard disk) attached to the stopped instance.
